Galatasaray Sports Club Kulübü Official Web Site - ROWING
1996- The Rowing Branch moved to its current facility in Küçükçekmece Lake, with the help of Mustafa Sarıgül, member of Board of Directors.
Galatasaray Rowing Team aims to form successful rowing teams in the country, to bring up successful rowers joining in national teams for world championships and olympics and getting medals in these races, and also to build up a big squad in its youth team.
The facilities of the team was modernized to fit the needs of Galatasaray and the Rowing Team Branch.
Within this framework, we hope that the parents would encourage their children to show an interest in rowing sport.
The Rowing Branch under Galatasaray Sports Club established a sponsorship relation with Unit Group in 2001 October in order to use the modern facilities in infrastructure, technical equipments and trainings, necessary for fulfilling these aims.
Their symphaty for Galatasaray and the consciousness to support amateur branches helped UNIT to be the main sponsor of Galatasaray Rowing Team.
Galatasaray Rowing Team started to take steps in the process of gaining a new image after the club signed a four year sponsorship agreement with UNIT in 2001.
1997- Osman Hattat, member of Board of Directors donated a big sum of money for the construction of the rowing facilities.
Rowing is a branch of sports which helps to work all muscles in the body and which requires high coordination and strict discipline.
The goal of the fourth level is to encourage teenagers for the rowing branch by providing opportunities for them in the educational field.
Galatasaray Sports Club Rowing Branch sportsmen joined the National Team Selection Races held in Sapanca - Kirkpinar on the dates of 16 and 17 April 2005.
During these activities, the officials underline the fact that the success in school is important for the rowing sport and that it is very hard for a sportspeople to do this sport by working in a job instead of going to university.
The rowing branch also keeps in our mind the fact that scientific work and support is important in bringing up the sportspeople who may get medals in the world championships and olympic games.
